As one of the bigger islands in the province, Romblon Island also boasts its own unique collection of beaches for those looking to unwind or embark on an adventure. Bon Bon Beach

Location: Barangay Lonos, Romblon, Romblon

Easily the most recognized and dreamy place in the whole province, Bon Bon Beach is a 10-minute tricycle ride from the town proper of Romblon Island. It is famous for its iconic sandbar, which stretches from the long side of this massive beach, to an uninhabited island. It offers a breathtaking view during low tide when the sandbar emerges, connecting to Bang-og Island, a known diving location. The pristine waters and peaceful surroundings make it ideal for swimming, sunbathing, or photography. It’s the perfect spot for weddings and romantic strolls or lazy walks, especially at sunset.

Tiamban Beach

Location: Barangay Lonos, near Bon Bon Beach

fter taking a stroll along the sandbar at Bonbon beach, you can head straight to Tiamban beach for a change of scenery. It is only a short 5-minute tricycle or motorbike ride from Bon Bon Beach or 15 minutes from the town proper.

Tiamban Beach boasts fine white sand and shallow, calm waters, making it a family-friendly destination. The beach is less crowded than Bon Bon, providing a more secluded atmosphere. Its laid-back vibe is perfect for picnics or simply relaxing under the shade of trees.

 

Marble Island

 

Talipasak Beach (Marble Beach)

Talipasak Beach is one of the beaches located farther from the town proper. It takes about 20 minutes from the town proper via tricycle or motorbike. Often referred to as “Marble Beach,” Talipasak Beach is a serene marble cove surrounded by lush greenery. It features white sand mixed with coral bits and unique colorful rocks, a nod to Romblon’s marble industry. The waters are great for snorkeling and freediving, revealing a vibrant underwater ecosystem.

Gargantos beach is smaller and less popular compared to the other beaches, however it is the most accessible. You can get to the beach in less than 5 minutes from town using a motorbike or tricycle.

Gargantos Beach sits on the waterfront of the Romblon harbor so you’ll get a nice view of the entire town, situated on beautiful lush foothills. On lower tides, you’ll be able to enjoy more sandy areas, as the beach stretches out into the water, like a small sandbar.

Lamao Beach Resort is a peaceful retreat with fine white sand and crystal-clear waters. It’s an excellent spot for snorkeling, as the coral reefs near the shore are abundant with marine life. The beach’s unspoiled environment makes it a great destination for nature lovers and those looking for some alone time.

The food at the resort is excellent and well worth the 45 minute drive to the opposite side of Romblon Island. Be sure to check weather conditions before heading out, as this side of the island is sometimes prone to storms and unpredictable currents and waves.

How to Get to Romblon, Romblon

To explore these beaches, you first need to reach Romblon Island:

  1. From Manila:Take a flight to Tablas Island (Tugdan Airport), followed by a jeepney ride to San Augustin Port, and a ferry to Romblon Island.
  2. From Batangas: Ride a ferry directly to Romblon Island.

Once on the island, local transportation options like tricycles, motorbikes, and jeepneys will get you to the beaches.
